Description

FAQSH, the timeless embodiment of Lebanon’s traditional dry wine heritage. What sets FAQSH apart is its unique vinification process, unlike any other dry wine. Here, the grapes undergo a distinctive transformation: their juice is pressed and gently cooked to near-boiling temperatures, thereby intricately altering their microbiological and sensory profile even before fermentation commences.

The name “FAQSH” derives from the age-old method of crushing fresh grapes and adding them to the surface of the cooked grape must, a technique that stimulates the action of wild yeast and kickstarts the fermentation process. This time-honored art of winemaking in Lebanon predates the French colonization of the region in 1920, bearing testament to centuries of tradition. The grape blend used for FAQSH encompasses a rich tapestry of indigenous varieties such as Tfayfihe, Baytamouneh, Zaytouneh, and others. Furthermore, the infusion of French vines, including Cinsault and Grenache, into Lebanese viticulture has gracefully embellished the FAQSH blend.

After an absence of more than four decades from the commercial market, our commitment to the RIACHI ethos of preserving taste and culture has led us to reintroduce this quintessential Lebanese dry wine to both our local and global communities.

FAQSH reveals its true splendor when served chilled to perfection at a temperature of 12°C. Surprisingly versatile, it marries exceptionally well with the vibrant flavors of Lebanese Mezza, making it an exquisite choice for those seeking a harmonious and authentic wine experience.
