Description
Nestled in the heart of Mount Lebanon, where the rugged terrain intertwines with age-old tradition, Levant Heights Scorched Earth encapsulates the essence of rebellion, painstakingly crafted within the embrace of white oak barrels. Drawing from eight generations of expertise at the esteemed Riachi distillery, Levant Heights is the quintessence of Lebanese craft whisky.
This cask strength release is the raw expression of our smokiest whiskies ever produced, Levant Heights Black Peak Bonfires. Meticulously crafted from a blend of Scottish peated malt and locally sourced sun-dried malt, the mash undergoes a unique cold-smoking process with Lebanese peat. Each batch is then subjected to a double distillation in our copper pot goose-neck still before maturing for a minimum of five years in new charred American oak barrels.
As the whisky caresses your senses, immerse yourself in the captivating aromas of distant bonfires and smoldering embers, intertwined with earthy whispers and the unmistakable allure of fresh peat. Delight in the subtle dance of smoked meat and the lingering touch of iodine, accompanied by the gentle warmth of black pepper, ginger, and tobacco leaf, kissed by hints of cinnamon.
On the palate, surrender to a symphony of flavors, where the intensity of the nose gives way to a more delicate rendition. Here, the earthy essence meets the comforting embrace of wood, offering a harmonious blend of baking spices, vanilla, and caramel, reminiscent of Crème Brûlée. Savory notes of chestnut cream add depth and complexity, while whispers of coconut linger like a gentle breeze on a scorched earth.
